The Tactical Athlete and Amino Acids

What are Amino Acids?


Proteins, which are needed for muscle growth and repair, are made of amino acids. Nine of the 20 amino acids are "essential," meaning the body can't make them and must get them from food or supplements. The body can make the other 11 amino acids that aren't essential.


Tactical athletes and amino acids


To do their jobs, which can include running, jumping, and carrying heavy equipment, tactical athletes must be very fit and have stamina to do their jobs. Amino acids are a must-have supplement for tactical athletes because they help build muscle strength, reduce muscle damage and soreness, and increase endurance.


Proper Dosage


Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), essential amino acids (EAAs), and non-essential amino acids (NEAAs) are all types found in supplements. BCAAs are especially important for tactical athletes because they can help reduce muscle soreness and fatigue, increase endurance, and improve mental focus during exercise.


The recommended amount of combined BCAAs, EAAs, & NEAAs is between 10 and 20 grams daily, split into two or three doses for tactical athletes.


Even though amino acid supplements can be helpful, they should not be used instead of a healthy, well-balanced diet. Tactical athletes should use amino acid supplements, a healthy diet, and regular exercise to maximize their performance.


What does all of this mean?


Amino acids are needed for muscle growth and repair and can help tactical athletes in many ways. The right amount of amino acids to take depends on a person's weight and level of activity. BCAAs, EAAs, and NEAAs are all good for tactical athletes. The recommended amount of combined BCAAs, EAAs, & NEAAs is 10 to 20 grams daily.
